源吉兆庵オリジナル団扇 – Handpainted Fan for Minamoto Kitchoan This workshop will be instructed by Aoi Yamaguchi. Original worksheets and handouts will be provided. Lesson will be taught in English. Knowledge of Japanese language is not necessary. TOOLS & MATERIALS Basic tools and materials will be provided for you to work on Japanese calligraphy during the workshop. I had an honor to work on the kanji title of @netflix Blue Eye Samurai, 『碧眼』— “Blue Eye”. 「碧」(blue) is also part of my name 碧生 — but I wanted this 「碧」to be unique, in a way that reminds viewers of the protagonist Mizu. The first workshop to be offered in my new studio will be New Year’s Calligraphy “Kakizome” Workshops in January! Kakizome is a wonderful Japanese tradition where you can take a moment to center yourself with good thoughts and wishes for the fresh beginning of the year. Let’s write an auspicious word for your new year’s resolution in calligraphy, and start the New Year in good. I’m excited to launch the coursework for the first-time beginners for 2025, both in-person and online! Please take a look at the details and schedule below, and sign up for the one that fits your schedule and needs.
